vintage bricks @ freedom furniture

Carly and the other friendly crew @ freedom let us loose in their Osborne Park, Perth store. We went into lay some vintage bricks in the main showroom. We installed this wallpaper just using water, as Origin Wallpaper is pvc free and pre pasted. We wet the wall and then the back of the paper with a couple of water spray guns and up it went.

We overlapped the print just slightly at each join and worked from the top down. As usual we had numerous small bubbles as we laid the paper down. This is normal and there is a tendency for people to try and "work" these out which is unnecessary as they dry out and disappear. If you live in Perth we can put it up for you. Generally the install price is $35 sqm, just send us a phone photo and we can confirm the price. Outside of Perth you, or any wall paperer can put it up...you just need water and a sense of adventure!

We're getting together with our global design collective to bring you a Kids wallpaper selection. Our Welsh designer Louise has some on the way to us. These should be up on the website within the week. Here's a sample of her clean and fresh artwork.

All this talk of wallpapers can be confusing especially as @ Origin we do things very differently from the other wallpaper folk. We print your wallpaper in Australia for any wall dimensions AND pattern size to your preferred scale.  We work with you and use the latest technology to ensure you get amazing wall art. Also, forget that PVC stuff from overseas...it's not our thing!

So here's a bit of a case study, Catherine saw Pradera by Inna on the Origin www. She loved the mural idea and we worked with her to get the sizing just right. 

She took a picture of the wall with her iPhone, measured the wall(height+width) and emailed these details to us. We "photoshopped" her iPhone pic, putting together her swatch which included the "in situ pic", specifications and a full sized artwork proof. This was emailed to Catherine for a final approval before Origin mailed her the swatch. A week later she ordered her wallpaper. 3 days later it was installed. 
Job done! Happy Customer!

You gotta love doing the different stuff!

Just over a week ago the visionaries behind the new Wee Bar in Oxford St, Mt Hawthorn gave us a call.  We were at the end of a long list of suppliers both locally and overseas where they'd tried unsuccessfully to source black and white check wallpaper.

In short we got the call Friday arvo, that weekend we put the design together, photoshopped up some in situ pics, printed some samples, and away we went.  Minor detail was that they wanted it printed and installed on the ceiling of the new Wee Bar within the week.  Done!

Our backs and necks have nearly recovered from the installation. Thanks also to Yelo Oxford St for keeping us fuelled on coffee and cake.

I had a spare day and finally got some more wallpaper up at home. The artwork is made up of about 260 Hipstamatic pics I took with my iPhone after my big Canon SLR stopped working on the 2nd day in Morocco. Big shout out to the crew at Apple for designing these magical devices. This is my first youtube effort, I'll think I'll stick to printing!!

Been a busy couple of days at Origin Wallpapers as we've had our first Australian designer come on board. 

Here are a couple of pics Julie's A3 sample swatches coming off the printers.  All full range of designs are now on the OW website and samples can be ordered online. Lots of retro and modern vintage going on!

Her designs are fresh, bright and work really well as step and repeats or stunning murals. 

Something that we don't chase but are happy to help out with are commercial graphic fit outs. Most of the time we hand these queries over to Digital Artworks they're specialists in commercial graphics.  We are more the pvc free greener wallpapers guys.
Reno and Tanya from Halo Hair are friends who needed some wall graphics printed and turned around quickly. We asked Rick from Calder Design to put the artwork together and here's the result with before, during and after pics.
